Yes, handy thing to have at least colored bulbs in there in case the lens gets broken. Had one of my fronts crack last winter and I didn't worry about it until I could get a new housing worked up (I have the dual filament bulbs in mine for turn signals and parking lights - so not a stock housing).

Only problem with the colored bulbs is that in a year or two the colored plastic film on them flakes off and you end up with a plain white bulb. The LEDs stay colored for the life of the lamp.
