Getting the Wheeling Fever
I tried the zip tie and it made the problem worse <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />. It just made the lever even more difficult to pull on. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

you must have another issue; yours must not just be a loose or stretched cable; I suspect it is kinked somewhere. I would check first behind the handle on the dash and then try to trace it to see if you can spot where it might be binding.

if your door is releasing and then catching again, that just means that it isn't pulling far enough to completely eject the door on its own, your cable is stretched and if you take up just a little bit of slack in it (i.e. the zip tie method) when you pull on it, it will pop it all the way out so it doesn't catch again and pull it back in.
