if your door is releasing and then catching again, that just means that it isn't pulling far enough to completely eject the door on its own, your cable is stretched and if you take up just a little bit of slack in it (i.e. the zip tie method) when you pull on it, it will pop it all the way out so it doesn't catch again and pull it back in.
