They would be built for a specific frequency.

11 meter is the CB band. 10 meter is a popular amateur band. Due to frequency propagation characteristics, it is well suited for long distance communication. That is why a lot of CB users will run a linear.

It has been years (more than 30) since I played with linear amps and radios. The older equipment had tuning crystals and coils where the frequency could be optimized for peak performance.

You may be able to find a web site listing the equipment you have with some specs to determine if it is tunable.
