Is there a quick fix to get one of the windows back up? Three out of four work. I just want to get the window up until I can work out what's wrong.

I had problems with the windows on my 99 for long time. The driver side and passager rear windows where only ones that would work. I finally just cut all the wires and took the Master switchs and took it apart and there was a bunch of Black stuff all over it like they spark and leave trails behind i cleaned it up and put it back to gather and works all of them like a champ... Too bad i cut all the windows wires. Only the masters job anyhow

Yeh, it can be a pain in the neck, i have had to clean the contacts 3 times before. They are wearing down - I will need to get a replacement.
I needed the quick fix so I could put the window up before it rained. Turns out I found one!!!
You need to take the inside door panel panel off. Locate the electric motor. There will be a two wire lead coming from it. (blue and white if my memory is good). Connect them to a positive & negative source. I used jumper leads straight off the battery. It will either go up or down. Switch the leads and it will go the other way. Don't leave the connection on any longer than necessary, it may short something out.

werd,

Please tell me that you at least included a fuse in your quick-fix and keep your jumpers wires covered when not in use. You'd be better off hardwiring in a new switch.

GONE, all I have left are a few spare parts and the wheels.

Roll Me Over

My driver side window just dropped one day. Placed it up with 2 school erasers (propped between the glass and the metal frame). Eventually had to do the regulator like 100 dollars....

Also My rear passenger window did not work unless i locked the windows from the master control and i could finally operate it.......

long story short it ended up being my ignition harness causing the rear windows to short out (it was traced to that)....as well as a faulty regulator

GOOD LUCK!
