That sucks adam, sorry to here about your loss. well as for everybody going on friday night we are meeting at Pats house in Apache Junction at 5:30pm, his house is on Ironwood and Broadway. Pat can post the official address so those of you who like to can us Map quest. As for saturday I have no official plan as far as meet up. I'm not sure how familiar John H is with the florence trails if at all familiar. We'll have to figure something out about that. If you get out there early enough adam, we might be able to figure out a meet spot but knowing you, your going to get out there by Noon and then head home by three so it's not likely . But anyway, everybody just remember, This Friday the 29th at 5:30pm we are meeting at pats house, Thats Lordtrunks house for those who don't know.

Here's the List I have as far as people who are going (I'm only counting drivers Wrenchwench)

Myself
Pat
Johnny B
Clay
Wrenchwench
Tay

As for the Mexican't group who are only going for a day we have:

John H
Toasty

Is this correct or am I missing someone?

I'm going to have to fall into the mexi-sorta-can't category. Work saturday morning, so we won't be out there 'till saturday afternoon. Anyone going to be on FRS/GMRS? The region's not THAT huge, though canyons screw with reception - but if you're on FRS channels I'll just scan them & call out on them, and hopefully find you guys.

I'll throw my frs in the truck, and keep an ear open let me know what channel you'll be on.

How about directing John Hughes to Cottonwood Canyon Road, several miles south of the Florence Junction highway split? If he gets to Price Road or the town of Florence, he's gone miles too far and would have to backtrack north. The road is pretty prominent, with lots of people parked just to the east of the highway to unload quads, etc. If we have a time, someone could just swing down there and meet him. There should also be cell reception by the highway.

This same plan would work for the other guys, too, just need a time. This road leads directly to Woodpecker as well.

I only have FRS, not GMRS, so if we wanted to assign a channel, please make it FRS. I have sub channels on my radios, but not everyone does, so maybe leave those off.

Looks like the weather won't be too too bad. Not a good day to sit around a campsite, but that's not the plan anyway. Nights should be fine.

I'll bring a couple of fake fire logs (that make real fire!), but I do believe there are already fire restrictions on State Trust and BLM land there, so be discreet.

LT, can you post an address or a MapQuest link to your place? If that's not cool with you, please PM. I've only been to your place once...

John B.

Ok, I have yet to here from tay also so I'm not sure what his plan is either.

less than 48 hours away from departure for this journey, I'm stoked. If john H can give us a rough estimate of what time he should get to cottonwood canyon road than meeting up with him should work pretty well. Also, wrenchwench, about what time do you think you will make it out to there for us to keep a ear out?
