Well, it's now been a little more than a year, and I've had some forward progress with my V8 project!! Finally. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/evil.gif" alt="" />

I picked up a free 302 block, heads and crank from a gent on Craigslist in February, just before I was laid off. The parts have been stowed in the garage for a few months.

However, my project intention has been redirected largely due to reading an article in Four Wheeler magazine. Some planets have aligned recently and I have been given a 1983 Dodge W150 rolling chassis with trans and tcase. The front D44 is not the favorite one, but the truck had been optioned with 4.10 gears. So, I'm going to mount my 6' service body on the chassis and saw off the remaining frame behind it, mount the crane-equipped rear bumper I have, reinstall either a 318 or 360, then cover the front with a black 2-door Montero cut to fit.

My logic here is the amount of parts I have already, the 133" (+/-) wheel base, an existing V8 chassis I have only to repower, and I'll get to make a Mitsubishi Raider in a solid axle fashion.

Thoughts?
