well i decided to go for the 2.8, the lil 2.2 just didnt have enough for highway SUV driving. and she needs need main seals and belts and clutch so with me doing all that work i figured i would just do it all on an engine that would meet my desires a little better. i should have some pics up soon , i bought a half cut off someone who had it imported, i believe they still have a 3.1 intercooled for sale if you are interested...
i am doing maintenance on the engine first to swap into my trooper, and have done the rear main seal, new clutch kit, front main, cam seal, water pump, timing belt. am going to do thermostat, glow plugs,and valves today but need the gasket # for the valve cover gasket so i can cross reference something that may work locally. or can i just use black RTV silicone gasket maker if i cant find a real gasket?? so that is that, any help or ideas would be appreciated, i know there are others who have done this and am looking forward to joining your ranks soon!
