Are 5.29 gearsets still available for people who are looking into that upgrade route?

I still have my front 5.29's that I purchased from Lloyd a few years back. He got them from Frank but they were for the front diff of a genII with the 3.0 (smaller front than the 3.5 or the genI V6).

I would like to pass them on to some one for cheap, throwing them back up in the Part Bin, but I don't want to sell them to some one if the rear set is unavailable at this point.

I think my original joke about turning them into a clock or an ashtray when I last offered them up is getting closer to reality. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shiner.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

Look who is back.
5.29's for small front and 9" rear has always been available for enterprising sole overseas. Neither one would fit your SR though as you know.

Yes they are still available. or you can get 3.15 for 3.5L.

With current exchange rate it's not a bad deal.

5.29 high pinion small front and 9" rear are produced to this date and used on new vehicles. So they will be available for awhile.

Didn't reread the old thread, too busy now. My recollection is that the bigger SR axle won't do 5.29s. (That's why Carlos has the 4.88s.)

That's correct only small front 9" rear. He has 4.90 to be exact not 4.875 those are 9" only as well.
