From what I hear, the general rule is you want a winch thats rated twice what your rigs weight is. I beleive the weight listed in the owners manual for a 1991 Trooper is about 3700 pounds, but once you add passengers and gear and such I'm sure its over 4000 lbs. So, is an 8000 pound winch enough? Those of you that have winches, what size did you go with?
