Hey,
Guys/gals...

I've noticed as of late (1wk-2wks) that each morning when I start the jeep and reverse out of driveway and then for the next 3-4 blocks that when shifting/clutching 1st and 2nd that the clutch seems to almost lag or drag/slop/slip for a brief moment. The clutch was replaced under war'nt 17,500 miles and the jeep now has 26,300 miles approx. So I'm doubting that it is the clutch or other related components which are bad.

What, if any diagnoses can you gents come up with? Or is this standard fare for the tj jeep wrangler? tia

Nope not standard for ANY clutch.. Have you any drips on the garage floor? I think I would take it back if only that many miles.
Evidently something has changed or you wouldn't have asked.. NOTHING should change with that modern clutch until it is worn out.. Few if any of us could wear out a clutch in that few miles on a grocery-getter.

I agree with BJ. That clutch rebuild only has 8K miles on it -- take it back where you got it rebuilt and have them fix it.

Lol! This has got to be the worst vehical I've ever owned. Not exactly the quality I'd expected from jeep. They finaly resolved the pop/snap noise (thank God 4 that)and that took like since Christmas. They replaced damn near everything in the rear drive train and the carrier and the axl and the sway links...lol! on on on on....

Now back to the dealer to have them tear out the trans for the 2nd time and replace the clutch again. This time they'll have to do the rear main seal because they'll surely have it f#$k'd up...Lol!
I'm starting to wonder if I shouldnt trade this one in and by some other vehical?

I must say the 2001 that I have is the best Jeep I've ever owned. Outside of the air bag light being always ON, the thing is great.
Lots more power than I've ever had in a jeep and wonderful economy..

Doesn't sound like you have a vehicle problem. It sounds like you have a dealership problem.

Crack me up! I spoke to soon...The dread snap/pop noise came back again this weekend...Urggg! Lol! I dont even wanna deal with it anymore, because it is such a pain in the a@@ & thats an undestatement.
Through all of this tho my contact @ the dealership as been realy pretty cool & has realy tried to rectify the situation. The war'nty sadly runs out in about a month tho. The issues aside "Silver" does run good in all other respects so far.

Keep in mind that if a previously-reported, but unresolved, problem exists at the time the warranty runs out, the lzw requires that the warranty cover the repairs. As long as the problem was reported before warranty expiration, it must be fixed under warranty. So it's important to go back to the dealership before the warranty expires and inform them the problem still exists.
