A properly set up weight distribution hitch really helps out all these vehicles on tongue weight. In reality towing 2000lbs is nothing around here in Alberta, look back 15-20 years ago at the power any Ford, Chev., Dodge truck made, really not at that impressive, look at what they would tow with them. If your not in a big panic to get anywhere cruising at even 90km/hr should not be a big problem in a 2.5 Pajero. Don't strictly purchase a trailer because it may be 500lbs lighter than another one, buy something you will be happy with. Any one that has towed alot of travel trailers will probably tell you there is not much difference between 3000lbs and 4000lbs. in a vehicle like these around here on the flat.
