Body Damage is Cool
I saw these on Rt. 81 in Virginia. Canadian plates, I think a Mercedes-made military vehicle. I wouldn't mind one being delivered to my home.

Mercedes built G-Wagens. Replaced the Bombardier Iltis.

The troops in Afghanistan like them.

You can/used to be able to buy a Gelõndewagen in a civilian model, the G500. Looking at prices figure about $20-30k for a 7-9yr old one.

Australia has just signed up for the G-Wagen for the next 30 years to replace the Land Rovers the Australian Army have been using.

That's the neatest recovery idea I've seen in a long time:

I friend of mine got G500. Pretty neat vehicle. Very roomy, comfortable and excellent off-road. Built like a tank. But it consumes lots of gas (something like 11-14MPG overall).

The US market got the 16 spark plug v8s with more electronics than this computer I am typing on.

I believe the later G55 AMGs had 469hp.

I actually saw 4 Gwagons last Friday. One was a G55 with big gay 24in+ rims.

So how does that work? Does the wheel disconnect from the axle somehow? Or does the tire spin while winching?
