I'm sure at some point this subject has been covered, but I am unable to locate anything on it. Which line do you apply vaccume to, to check the secondary carb? Also, could this be causeing choking at higher RPM's with air filter housing on? It does not choke at high RPM's when the air filter housing in off.....I'm about ready to burn this car alive! With all the time and money I have in it, it should be gold plated. lol

You have a stuck bowl vent... Since its stuck open the fuel on the bowl is always referenced to atmospheric pressure.

When you put an air filter on you get a pressure drop at the cars inlet. The fuel bowl is supposed to be referenced to the inside of the air filter.

Since your bowl vent leaks.... Your have more pressure above the fuel than you should. That causes the motor to run really, really rich.

As a test block off the bowlÆs vent line to the carb (large line that goes across the valve cover). It should run a lot better with the air filter on.
