In the meantime I've chased all the wires from the speakers as only the rear right was working. All 4 speakers are working now and the wiring ball sorted behind the radio. Any contamination to the commutator will reduce the motors output. Once brushes are contaminated with oil (thatÆs what is in the grease) it cant be removed. What is on the sides will migrate. Mine has the long neck tha come though the balancer. Here a link to a past thread that has pics of the old bad on and the new one the recall replaces with. (My 95 had the new as it was post-recall.) The improved bolt has been superceded by what looks like a hardened vertion of the caravan bolt. It's short but installs just fine with a standard 6" extention.
