Well, I just found out what happened in the t-case. The needle bearing went south, in a big way. Since the hi-low slides on that bearing, it is pretty obvious why I could not get into 4-lo.

The clutch was really toasted, also. It was gone to the point that the pressure plat wasn't holding it against the flywheel. It was just sort of floating around in there.

What about the previous install-uninstall merry-go-round game you played? Did it make it back in where it was supposed to go? Or, you probably were not pulling the hi/lo cluster during those times.

Tis a bummer, though. I hope the mainshaft is ok. Does the cluster spin or is it welded to the shaft?

Well, the good news is that the needle bearing isn't welded in place. All the needles are in the bottom (since it is standing on the bellhousing) of the case. Things rattle around just fine. That is good news, I guess.
