>>>*I was looking at those when we bought this Impala SS, all that was out then was the photos. But the Impala was so crazy cheap I couldn't turn it down.

Can't say that I really like this Impala though, it just feels funny to me and even after putting 10,000 miles on it it still feels funny. Too much weight up front with the V-8 I think, then the drive axle is on the wrong end, it holds the road well but doesn't feel like it is if that makes any sense.

*What it really doesn't like is the 600 to 800 pounds of inventory we load into it for the trip from Portland to here. The wife keeps saying minivan or SUV but I think people would look at me funny in one of those.

My instinct is to put the Impala on the rack and modify the suspension, relocating those top strut mounts would help her set going into a corner and take that silly "porpoise" feeling out I think.

I think our next machine will be back to the Camaro, assuming there even is one. I like the Yota vehicles but I don't think they have my 245# body in mind when they build those.

Then Obama has the mileage requirements up so high that I think a smart car will look like a stretch limo in a few years, so who knows what we can even buy??

One advantage I do have, I still have my jig shop, if I have to I can just build my own car...

*Let's see....1973 Olds 98 frame, nice factory 410 horse, just go from there.... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />....*EB
