If I understand what I read the idea behind the mentioned system is to "fool" the ECU to think that the temperature of the incoming air is cooler that it actualy is making the mixture richer, something that in other aplications was achieved with.... a sipmle resistor..

In this application is that for some reason it reads the O2 sensors to adjust itself...

something dnot sound right to me, since if O2 sensors see a "richer than should" mixture will give instuction to ECU to "cut some fuel"

An other thing I can think of is that in a hot day the overall result will be small if any since
hot intace air and a richer than normal mixtsure will cause detonation, the relevan sensor will pick that up and reduce timing...
