The housing should already be welded together<img src="/forums/images/graemlins/pfft.gif" alt="" />...just don't weld to the carrier to the diff <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

I can understand why your confused... The factory manual calls the casting that the ring gear and carrier are put into the differential case.

Thats on the front diff....
