im planning on a SOA in the rear and torsion twist in the front, as well as a body lift. i should have no problem putting 33's on there right?

Got salt, eh?

It's not surprising. The bolt faces downward and is at the very rearmost of the torsion bar. If you can't turn it, it is time to start soaking it in some sort of penetrating oil (Kroil, PB Blaster ect) for several days and then try again. From the looks of your body, I can promise you the adjusting bolt is rusted and it is going to take some work to get it freed up.

Good Luck,
Michael

im not sure what the torsion bar looks like, and it probally doesnt help that i have the skid plate still on. maybe ill go take that off. do you have any pictures of what im looking for? every other 4x4 ive had was coils in the front, stick a coil spacer or a bigger coil in there and call it a day, lol. living in northern ontario, the salt really gives your car a kick in the nads. heres some under body pics. they do look worse than they really are. flaky but still solid, mostly...

The torsion bars are a round rod that runs from an attachment on the lower control arm to a bracket that is near the line between the two doors. The torsion bars are close to the frame rail and the adjuster bolt can be accessed without removing any skid pans. The adjuster bolt head is large, I believe 27 mm. The adjuster bolt is oriented vertically, so all you see is the head of the bolt. Depending on the model, the torsion bar is between 2 and 3 feet long.

thanks ill take another look tomorrow. unfortunately i dont have a socket that big but my buddy does ill just have to ask him for one. ill let you guys know how it goes. im guessing that it looks kinda like a sway bar, cause it looks like it has 2 sway bars on the front of the vehicle.

Doesn't really look like a sway bar. It is completely straight and runs from front toward the back.

It is dead center in your 2nd picture, above the skid plate. There is one on the other side that looks just like it. The torsion bar runs from there to the front lower a-arm. You really can't miss it.

Good luck

The torsion bars are the springs for the front suspension. The ride height adjustment bolts are 27mm as mentioned, and should be on a crossmember midway between the wheels on each side, near the frame rail.

Definitely start hitting the threads on that bolt with penetrating oil of some kind. That rust will make the bolt quite difficult to turn at first, you will likely need the leverage of a long breaker bar to get it started.
