Yeah, that's what my "maps" say. I have two US maps that show which states honor PA, and which states honor OH. I'm suprised at the southern states that don't honor one or the other. My only reason for getting the PA permit is that I can travel from Ohio to my brother's in NC, and into SC and carry legally on the whole trip. If I could wear at work, I'd probably carry much more often. I'm going to be practicing a LOT more. If nothing else, the testing I went through made me realize that shooting isn't one of those skills that stays the same if you stop doing it. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I'm pretty sure I've ruled out any kind of semi-auto...the reliability of a good wheel gun appeals to me. a hammerless double action .357 is what I'm leaning towards.

Don't know about the laws there, but down here, if you qualify with a revolver, that's all you're allowed to carry. If you qualify with a semi-auto, you're allowed to carry either.

That's Texas? It's funny, you always hear about how Texas is pro-gun, but I've heard about some of the laws down there and it's ironic that a socialist state like Oregon would have such lax gun laws, while Texas would have stupid ones like the one mentioned.

Here there is no qualifying. You do need a very basic safety course, but that's it. You just pay your fee and wait 30 days or so and you can carry any handgun in the world you want. Also where you can carry is pretty lax compared to most states. There's no restrictions for things like bars or certain public places, other than courthouses and Federal buildings.

It really is bizzarre how the laws are set up. Texas won't let me carry on my OH permit, but I can obtain a PA (THROUGH THE MAIL), and they will honor THAT.
