I've got 10L and 20L Wedco and/or Midwest Can's in green for kerosene, red for unleaded, and yellow for diesel. Nothing beats them for fuels. I actually enjoy using them because I appreciate a good design. But, I found the need to get some water cans beyond what I have for camping. Didn't want to get the blue water metal cans like those found at British Pacific Brit Pac because these will honestly get thrown around. They are to keep in the horse trailer for when we go to remote trails without a water supply. I wanted plastic because, as I said, these will get thrown around. They will be left out in the open and subject to rusting where the paint has been rubbed off because they have been THROWN around. (Are you getting the idea that these will be treated poorly?) I didn't want to pay for Scepter's either. So, I ran into these guys; LC Industries As best as I can tell, they are Mil Spec plastic water cans for $16.99. If you order more than $50, shipping is free. Three cans gets you there by $.97. They are very nice. I got two sand and one OD (might need warm water on a cool day). They are molded with "PROPERTY OF U.S. GOVERNMENT" on them, so if you abhor that institution, look elsewhere. ![[Linked Image]](http://pics.montypics.com/mitch/2009-06-04/1244150040_p1010061.jpg)

I put a potable water tank in my Raider last year, recently gave away all my Jerry cans, and will have some need of portable water. Good links!!

I just compared it to the Scepter water can. The tops are interchangeable; both the main top and the pour top.
Remember, these are not Scepter MFC's. Amoung other things, they have different sized tops. So, the fuel spouts don't work with water cans.

I don't see why one could not use them for gas, but I have heard that the MFC and the water can have different gaskets (rubber vs. viton for gas). But, if you look at the construction of the water cap...awww hell...try it and see.

I use those cheapy blue-green RV type ones. they are 6 gallons and I carry two per trip. I keep mine inside the cab so they dont see too much abrasion. I'd imagine they would tear fast if mounted like a jerry can.
I might look into those surplus water cans.

I might look into those surplus water cans. Why would you get surplus mil spec cans when these are brand new...and probably cheaper than any used cans on eBay? Seriously?

I meant those cans you posted. You said "They are molded with "PROPERTY OF U.S. GOVERNMENT" on them" so I figured I could call them "surplus".
