When you say, "won't shift into 4 lo", will teh stick just not physically move into teh position, or is it that it goes, but will not engage?

IIRC the engagement in this tranny (I have the same truck) is solenoid operated, so if the solenoid were bad, I'd guess you could pop it in but it would do nothing....
