Thanks for the replies. I am going to check it out on Saturday and see if I can get it to shift. As I said in the original post, the tranny was replaced. Come to find out, the transfer case was replaced when the tranny was (original t-case was working fine). He still has the old tranny and t-case to go along with the vehicle. If I can get it to shift into 4 lo and I decide to buy it, I will have an extra working t-case to go with it. Reckon what I could do with that?


If it's an auto tranny, teh transfer case is not a seperate unit from the transmission, it all one big chunk that shares fluid passages etc. While you can technically seperate it, it's very rare to actually do so, neither is useful without the other. So it's most likely they juct changed out the whole chunk.
