So I checked it out today. I can shift into 4 lo, but it appears to stay in 4 hi. The light on the dash (4WD i think) doesn't come on until it is in 4 lo, but again I don't think it actually was in 4 lo. No 4lo light comes on. This is an automatic so i don't know if it make a difference. Is there a mechanical linkage used to shift the t-case or is there some kind of vaccum mechanism that shifts it? I like the truck, but nervous about buying it due to t-case issue unless I can figure out if this is an expensive problem or not. I'm not very mechanically inclined, but don't mind learning and getting dirty.

It's a pretty nice truck. Front fenders have some rust on the edges. Back fenders have some rust on the edges too. The rocker panel on the drivers side in front of the rear tire is pretty rusty, but it is just the outer skin. Worst rust is in the passenger side front floor board. It's rusted thru where the metal bends upward to the fire wall on the outside side. Engine runs good (vehicle has 365k miles, 50k on rebuilt engine bored .30 over). Transmission shifts good.

Any input you can provide will be appreciated.

TIA

Chris
