On my 00', my fan blew apart and cut the radiator. I took it to my mechanic and we replaced it in a couple of hours after work. We needed to take the grill off but did not have to remove the oil cooler or condenser. It took some work to do it but it can be done. From what I remember (4 years ago) there were a lot of screws (some kinda hidden).

On my 59 Ford pickup a blade came off of the fan at speed and came thru the HOOD! It'll surprise the hell out of you.. The engine minus one fan blade was so out of balance I couldn't drive it higher than 1200 rpm to the Junk Yard to get me another fan.
I drove that Ford with the obvious hole from the inside OUT on the hood for a couple more years..got a lot of attention from guys at service stations.
