1994 LS. 3.0 L, 12 V. Got a tick tick tick at idle and it runs kinda loud... asked my mechanic to check it out while it was in for state inspection and emissions and he says there's a hole in the y-pipe AND he can't get find a y-pipe for it. Even the stealership doesn't stock it anymore.

So I looked at the exhaust section of the FSM and can't find any mention of a y-pipe. Is there another name for it? I just see the left and right hand front exhaust pipes, but they seem to be separate pieces?

Anyone know where I can get one? OEM or aftermarket. I did some googling and came up with nothing. Any guidance in the right direction would be much appreciated!

That's the Bosal diagram. Available from NAPA.

Fasteddy's advice is occasionally sound...

Thanks,

Unfortunately NAPA doesn't stock all the parts in that picture, but I'll try some other places.

I think I may up going junkyard, which I hate to do for exhaust components.

If your search comes up empty, take the said Y pipe to an exhaust shop and have them repair it if its not too rusted out.

I think I found it, but it's $265! I might try to have it repaired anyway at that price!

Whats wrong w/ just cutting the flanges off the old pipe and welding them to a new one? Or am I missing something.
