Assuming the assembly didn't change much over the years, after you remove the handle assembly, there is a flat pin that needs to be knocked out of the handle bar. There is a hole to align it. don't try twisting it out, it'll break. After you get it out, you need to twist the handle around about 180 degrees to get the swaged cable end out. Once you get the cab side connected and reassembled, you can route it to the first joint. I did mine twice because I was sent the wrong size (sent a short bed cable and I have a long bed) The first time I did it from the dash first and the second I connected under the truck first. It's easier from the cab first, but I had to do some work under the truck so started there.
