Yep, make sure the head bolts aren't stretched before reusing, chase the bolt holes in the block first as well. Make sure the intake/exhaust manifolds aren't warped; usually the latter needs a touchup.

Chase the manifold bolt holes as well; helicoil repair as needed.

If you have time, send off the injectors to be refurbished; www.rceng.com and witchhunter are recommende on this site.

Remove the butt splices on the fuel injector harness and solder them; this is a problem area with the older rigs. Again, do this if you don't need a quick turnaround.

58ft lbs , is correct but weak . I suggest 68-70ft lbs ..

I now do this consistantly to all my engines , and not had a headgasket problem since .
