Make sure that the clutch pedal bracket isn't cracked. That will cause similar issues you described. The metal of the bracket will actually move as you use the pedal. Lots of posts on it here with your generation of truck.

Yeah, I've seen that, but mine's fine. The pedal pressure etc is good too, master cylinder rebuilt not that long ago.
