I installed everything yesterday, it really makes a difference in the braking! Thanks for all you guys' help and suggestions! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/patriot.gif" alt="" />
A few comments:
If you use the 27mm thick '94 SR rotors you should get shorter bolts for the rotor-to-hub connection. The original locking hub flange bolts are the correct length, #10 metric hardness and with the required 14mm head, Grab them while you are at the junk yard getting the dust shields. I couldn't find the right ones at the local hardware store so I used an extra 10mm washer under the original '86 bolts so that I could torque the nuts without them bottoming on the unthreaded shank of the long bolt. Alot of threads stick past the nuts, but they don't rub anywhere.
The original '86 7/8" master cylinder will bolt to and function with the V6 brake booster! (And Visa-Versa).
Be sure to get the V6 vacuum supply hose with the internal check valve, the 4 cylinder booster has a different valve that threads into the nipple, with the V6 booster, it's pushed into the line near the intake manifold. The V6 vacuum hose fits the 2.6l fine.
The dust shields I used came from a '93 SR 3.0l, they are for a dual piston caliper with the THIN rotors. They needed minor trimming on the bottom of the shields near the lower bolt hole to clear the caliper mount. The upper shield to caliper bracket 6mm bolt did not line up, either. Try to get matching shields for the setup you are using to avoid trimming them!
The stock '86 rubber front brake hoses fit the late calipers and caliper mounted hose bracket perfectly and are the correct length. I used the short steel caliper lines and brackets from a '93 SR dual piston caliper, they fit the '94 SR calipers perfectly.
