If we do a real early run like that, do you have any idea when the outpost opens, so people can get day passes, like myself? I tried to check there website, but there in the process of updating it. I would hate to get up there and have to wait a couple hours to get a pass...
I know they open fairly early to serve breakfast. I will give them a call tomorrow to see exactly when they open since this has been a question brought up many times in the past. I am not sure exactly when Janet gets back from Maine but I could ask if she could keep an extra to pick up off her from the campsite in a worst case scenario. But I am pretty sure they should be open especially if we push it back to 7am. So I will find out tomorrow when they open, and if they say 8am then I will talk to Janet about other arrangements. We should start calling these Uwharrie Addicts Anonymous meetings, instead of meeting about getting over our addiction we meet to fuel it. Hi, my name is Eli and I am an Uwharrie Addict. I suffer from Uwharrie with-drawl syndrome (UWS).

Even if I had the time to go wheeling... heck, even if I was at Camp Arrowhead, I dont think I'd get up at 6 to go wheeling. I'll just bare the heat and get a couple extra hours of sleep. Good luck with getting people there at 7 with an hour or so of driving ahead of them
Might just arrange it a normal time, sleep the night and wake up early for some wheeling. cough poll cough. J/k, but in the future, I think a poll would work out good

J/k, but in the future, I think a poll would work out good Having A/C in your truck makes a world of difference. There was a discussion about heat and wheeling earlier on the last trip so I am not the only one. Polls are nice, but we don't have that much time for people to vote this time around, and as a compromise I think having 2 trips will work good. An early bird trip for those wanting to beat the heat, and another regular trip later on. I will be one of the first to say getting up at 0400 or 0500 isn't my cup of tea. But with the heat and no A/C it can motivate you really quick. So far the list for July 11th if everyone interested goes: DRaider90 - Dodge Raider Sandhill Raider- Dodge Raider Pastor - Mitsubishi Montero NCDWrench - Mitsubishi Montero RDTheHill - Raider Possibly Dantelaterra - Range Rover Bill & Son - Jeep Cherokee (used to be White YJ) Harmony (my cousin) - Land Rover Disco Bearing some of those may not show (The 2 rovers), that is still a nice group. And if others want to show up later that is cool too.

Eldorado Outpost: Mon-Sat: Open 5:30am Sun: Open 7am
That answers that question about being able to get a trail pass. That also explains I guess why the close at 8 or 9.

We are still planning a trip for the weekend of the 24th/25th/26th. Current idea is to show up the 25th (Sat) and wheel, then camp out over night wheel a little the 26th and leave after lunch. If the camping idea doesn't work out we may just turn it into a Saturday trip.
