Volvo tech eh? Just did a timing belt and water pump on an S70 Thursday I think it was.. not as bad as I thought it would be.. funny thing. We called the dealer to buy bolts for the crank pulley cause Mitchell1 says they are one time use (torque to yeild). Using them again and they supposedly break. Well we call and they shrug and said the techs have never asked for those parts before and have never had a comeback for them breaking neither.. lol. So we just used the old bolts as well. other than that, it was a breeze.

The lead master tech next stall over was working on a newer audi w/ 2.7l v6 in search of a coolant leak.. he had to remove the front end literally. everything from the radiator forward comes off with the bumper. He had the exhaust, tranny, and other here and there's off also. and just the week before, the customer had the tranny out for something else. within the last year they have spend $6000 on this car!! heck with that, dude I payed $6500 for my kia and spent only like $800 in mechanical minus tires. I think audi/vw's are cool as hell to drive, but I'd never own one <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shame.gif" alt="" /> Needless to say, the tech spent a few days on that car and lost money on it (flat rate) big time.
