The third brake light centered in the bore of the spare wheel is a test run. I used a DOT approved 4" round tractor light wedged between the wheel and the spare mounting bracket. I wired the light to a used 7 prong trailer hitch. Light only works when I plug it into the hitch.

I wanted to go the other route and have spot lights for back up lights in the 4" square reflector housing. But after extensive use of the Sporty in the snow. I opted against that. without mud flaps; the reflector area gets covered in snow. I'm still debating on how that area will turn out.

I use 5 dollar resistors in all my tail lights so they blink before I stop. Warning those behind to slow down on the Ice before they slide into me in the winter.

I really want better backup lighting though. But haven't decided yet.

Lights on the roof rack would seem like an easy option, but when it's snowing hard, all you see is snow fall. So I wanted to mount the backuplight lower to illuminate the trail and not the falling snow.
