I don't know why the pics look different for some. When I view them, they are normal. I thought about hinging the floor, but with the way the carpet is and the recess in the floor, it opens and closes the same as it would if it had hinges. The old cover showed how weak it was when I put a keg of beer in there, so I made one out of plywood. Way better.The floor spot holds a lot of stuff. I removed the factory jack since I have a hi-lift and steel bumpers. It hold an air compressor, jumper cables, shackles, tire plug kit, lug wrench, ratcheting straps, bungee cords, and the base for the hi-lift and still has room. The duct tape on the intake does look bad, but was one of those temporary fixes that worked too well, so I haven't given it much thought. I can say, I know for sure the snorkel works!
