I had Gone out to the Local PicknPull Today to get a M/C and other Various parts.

This was the Target Vehicle.
[Linked Image]

I was removing the M/C and noticed that i might need to remove the Battery tray as well. It took me a couple of minutes to realize that...."HEY! The Battery is mounted on the Opposite side of the vehicle in this Gen2!!??"

The tray was completely removable. I thought that if it fit in this engine bay with this 3.0 engine than WHY couldn't it fit it my Dodge Raider??????

Here is the Tray and M/C. Total=$30

I went to a lot of other yards and then home to my Scorching Hot Rig...OUCH! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/evil.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/evil.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/evil.gif" alt="" />

I opened the hood and remove a couple simple bolts to positon the battery tray.

It Fits perfect! Like a glove! It was Meant To Be There!

I measured my Battery and it seems like i would need at least 10 inches of clearance. I have over 12 inches!!

You can not see it but there is a support bracket under the tray too! The Tray feels very secure and it will be!
I have not drilled any holes but i will tonite when temps are cooler.

There is even Mounting Holes for me to bolt the Second battery in place!

I am thinking i thought of this first but i bet someone else has already done this and i am just heading down their trail <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

But it is a very easy and cheap solution to help mount a second battery.

I will post pictures when it is all bolted up pretty!

Whatever the case, I'll be heading down the trail behind you! Very nice find, and great use of wide open space!

It might take a little extra work to fit since the coil, the "device box", and the headlight washer tank (if you have it) use that spot in the 2.6L engine bay. I'm sure it's doable, but I have a feeling it's not going to be as "plug & play" as the those pictures suggest.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
The diesels have 2 batteries from the factory.
It's placed in the same place as in the pic's above.
Your bat. tray looks very much like mine in my diesel.
It's nice to have 2 batteries to rely on.

Nice upgrade <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

(sorry for my bad english..)
