When I cleaned my gen I's, it had to use a metal scraper because of the accumulated grease/dirt build up (1.5" thick in spots). <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/zombie.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/zombie.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/zombie.gif" alt="" />

But what others said. There was no rubber coating on mine either. Just bare metal. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

My skid plates were a nice black color until I painted them yellow a few years back.

Yellow? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> Reminds me of a poser Exploder I saw this weekend, the owner painted the rear dif and all of the undercarriage red -the truck was dark green-, had some factory rims -my guess 16"s- but added a chrome decal to his fenders reading 22" <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/barf.gif" alt="" />
