Anyone know where I can get a Y pipe for a 94 Trooper (3.2 liter SOHC engine) for a good price? They don't seem to be very available

Do you take it off road? If so I recommend a custom system where the passenger side pipe goes further back and crosses over behind the transfer case. The crossover Y pipe is always the first thing to get hit off road.

No off-road use, mainly used for towing our boat. I'm going to patch it up for now but eventually I'll need a new one. So if anyone knows where to get one....thanks!

While talking to my new local mechanic, he mentioned replacement flex sections, so I looked into that since that was the only problem with the Y-pipe. I was concerned that once I cut into the pipe, it would fall apart since it's 15+ years old. Well, to my surprise I found that the stock pipe is probably 1/8" wall, and stainless steel to boot. By just unbolting the passenger side from the header flange, I was able to cut just forward of the flex section, take the remainder out, and put a replacement flex section in. I had to do some grinding on the remainder of the pipe on the drivers side (oh what fun laying underneath doing that!) but once it was together it was as solid as a rock. I still have to trim the clamp bolts to clear the skid-plate, but it worked great and saved me about $300. Very surprised at the thickness of that pipe! It will probably outlast the rest of the vehicle!

Sounds like a good solution! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
