Guys, I need some advice here!
I got my bolt extensions and decided to put the blocks in. It wasn't very easy, but it wasn't very hard either. I cut and drilled the blocks, but I did not shaped the bottom and top. I left them completely flat and put them in. Do you think it's gonna be a problem? The original rubber spacers are on the top of the blocks, and the blocks are sitting on the metal supports. I'm kind of afraid that it will cause side to side movement and put too much stress on the bolts. Has anyone used flat blocks as well?
Two things to add to the "how to do a body lift":
I used a bottle jack and cement blocks to lift the body just enough to put the kia jack between the body and the frame and lift the body. That way the weight of the car is on the frame, pushing the suspension down and increasing the distance between the body and the frame without having to lift the body too much.
I had to disconnect the plastic intake duct (attached to the radiator) and the intake hose (attached to the MAF and the air duct on top of the engine).
Thanks

I'm running 1.4" UHMWPE discs that are flat on both ends. I have not experienced any shifting.
Where did you get the extensions, and how much were they? What did you do about your shifters? Did you have any issues with your fuel fill and vapor lines from the tank to the body? Did you have to relocate your power steering res? Did you adjust your exhaust pipe?
What about the gap now on your bumpers?
Show us some pictures!!!

I just put the body blocks, haven't done anything else yet. I'm trying to get off work earlier today to finish the lift.
I could not find M14x1.5 coupling nuts to built the extensions, so I had to go to a machine shop. It was not cheap, it cost me 160 bucks to get them fabricated. I asked them to make the extensions 4" long, so I can keep the rubber doughnuts.
I bought a metal grinder to cut the floor (4wd shifter) and I'm expecting to be able to extend the shaft linkage under the car (gear shifter). The fuel fill line need to be replaced with a longer one. I forgot to mention that I loosened the fuel filler and vapor line prior to lifting the body. I don't know about the exhaust, haven't paid attention to that. The bumpers will be another challenge for me, since I don't have a welder. I think I can use brackets and bolts.
I will post some pictures, as soon as I figure put how to do so.
Thanks

I'm almost finishing the lift, and will post pictures soon. Everything went fine and easy, except for the front bumper. I'm trying to relocate it, but I can't find a way without having to either cut the frame or the bumper. There's two protuberances sticking out of the frame, that goes into the bumper, follow the link to see them ( http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/ForSale/Docs/Images/KiaSportage5.jpg). They are just above the towing hooks. If I cut them off, the bumper will fit perfectly with some brackets. Another option would be cutting off part of the bumper reinforcement, but the bumper will not fit so perfectly. How did you guys relocate your front bumper? Is there another option for this? Do you think it will be a problem if cut off that piece of the frame? Thanks

Thanks for the help, guys! I finally finished the body lift. I just need to find a longer fuel filler hose and find put the center console back in place. I'll be posting pictures soon. The next step now is find some nice tires. Have you guys ever heard of GT Adventuro M/T? I found a pretty good deal, 4 31 10.5 15 tires mounted and balanced for 420 bucks. I'm also looking at the Treadwright Guard Dog. They are 90 bucks each plus shipping, totaling around $450. Plus the mounting and balancing. What do you think? GT Adventuro Guard Dog

As much as I like the the guard dogs, those GT's have always caught my eye. Where can you get that good of a deal?

I found them in Sacramento (CA), in a place called wheel and tire market (or something like that). Let me know if you want their address and phone number. I went over there today and put the tires, they look nice on the car. Take a look at the pictures in my cardomain: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3881658I've been saving money for a long time to do these mods, now it's time to enjoy them! But before I have to replace the front wheel bearings and brake pads... any advices/links? Thanks

Clean and pack your bearings and hubs once a year and after any deep water crossings and get good vented roters and brake pads. With good maintenance they will last a long time. I am still on my original bearings and replaced the original brakes at 160,000 miles. The best advice of all is drive it like you stole it (ok, not if its your daily driver).

www.brakeworld.com for brake pads. The Ti coated kevlar are quick stopping, no fading, quiet, and low dust. Great company to deal with.
