I have been catching up on my sleep and working so I haven't gotten a chance to post any pics/stories. But lets get the ball rolling, here is a quick over view of the day.

Got to the outpost @ 7am. I came in right behind Roger, guys in the Land Rover where all ready there, then Reuben showed up shortly there after. So we went and did Falls Dam. Got to see the Rover bypass the rock ledge in a way I have never seen before, that took about 20-30 minutes.

Bill showed up while we were still on Falls Dam so we headed back to the Outpost. We re-grouped with him and his son and headed out to Dutch John. The Disco tried to do the Hill Climb for over an hour then gave up, a buddy of a friend from PlanetIsuzu that just happened to pull up behind us pulled the Rover up the hill. Everyone else made it up without many issues, 3 of the 4 in the first shot.

We came out of Dutch John onto Rocky Mount, took it up through Kodak and played there a little bit. Took a left on Saw Mill and did a quick run of it out to Slab Pile to play on poser rock some. Then took Wolf Den back to Falls Dam to play in the Soupbowl and mini mud pit. From there we went by the campgrounds to say hi/bye to Janet and then headed out. Here are some of the pictures/videos from the Rover, and the Nissan that pulled the rover up:

Just a little teaser. I have a decent amount of video and poser shots to get up that I took.

That looks like it is getting deep. I dont remember it being higher than the truck.

I just want to tell you both good luck, and we're all counting on you.

Had a fun of lot and my kids enjoyed themselves <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />. My day was characterized by;

1. Confirming more and more that open:open sucks

2. Making several attempts at a given section and
then watch Roger drive straight over it

3. A couple of little surprises when I got home.

IÆve been over this several times before with no issue. But on Saturday I just couldnÆt seem to avoid the open diff disease.

[Linked Image]

Roger then drove straight over <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

The ænewÆ bypass <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> . Dave had to look away <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

[Linked Image]

The result was a popped out rear light. I was thinking that this was not such a good idea <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

[Linked Image]

We got the disco up there in the end <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

After several of attempts, but I managed to climb over the rock I got beached on the first time I went to URE <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

This video starts out portrait but flips to landscape

Roger a bit further down in the same spot

I think this illustrates to level of grip I had <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

Me doing the same (excuse my children arguing <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> )

The troublesome ascent on Dutch John. ItÆs very steep and difficult to stand on.

This picture doesnÆt do it justice.

I worked my butt off for at least an hour trying to help the Disco up. Failed <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

Still trying!

In the end he was strapped up by a Nissan truck as Eli said.

Here's my multiple, failed attempts to get up (the video flips after 2 mins). I think my problem as a lack of speed. I think IÆm overly cautious sometimes. CanÆt wait for that locker!

Finally made it up!

Roger was carrying more speed and his LSD must have helped. He drove straight up ità.of course <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/nana.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

So my two surprises that I found when I got home were the smell of burning brakes. My p/s rear caliper was binding again. So I spent yesterday morning replacing the rear calipers and flexible lines.

This was the otherà

Didn't feel a thing <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> I tried to push it out with the stock jack but only made things worse because it pushed the rear quarter in <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" />

Oh well, I planned to cut that off anyhow <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shiner.gif" alt="" />

my rear passenger tire went flat yesterday. i figured it must have picked up a nail or something so i took it to get it plugged today. turns out there was a bunch of mud between to the rim and tire. and the rim was bent a little.

must have happened on that last climb out of the soup bowl when i slammed against the wall on the right. still it was worth $10 to come up out of that thing on three wheels.

i've got a few pics on my phone. will work on that soon.

Roger, great job wheeling buddy! You make it look so easy, but you've had practice on those trails and it pays off!

thanks angelo. actually the secret to my success was being in the tailrunner position. i learned from everybody else's attempts first. when it was my turn it just looked easy because i knew what not to do. plus a lot of luck too.
