The Mitsu 9.5" rear end is 31 spline and so is a big bearing Ford 9". The stock mitsu axles should fit right into the ford 31 spline carrier. The carrier bearings and ID of the ring gear would be the only issues I can forsee.


Just because the splines are the same doesn't mean the axles will fit. There's quite a bit to consider.

Axle diameter, Spline, length.
Bearings shouldn't matter because he's swapping the WHOLE ford 3rd member into the Mitsubishi housing.

Does the ford 3rd member put the center into the centerline of the axletubes?

Is the bolt pattern around the edge the same? Sealing surface around the edge?

Does it even fit in there at all?
