Another note, ford splines are machined and the mitsu ones are forged. I doubt they would mate together like they should, it would either be really tight or a little sloppy. It is an interesting swap and it would be cool for gearing options but the mitsu axles are much stronger and an improvement over the ford 9" wich they were designed after.


I guess the tooth thickness of each spline could be different. In general, automotive spline shape is the same across the board.

By forged I think you mean rolled...it's hard to forge all around an axle shaft. Rolled splines are stronger no doubt.
