Previous Thread Next Thread Print Thread Rate Thread Rough Running '81 4WD Toyota Truck #954043 07/16/09 06:04 PM Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 5 Stanwood, WA O oldtoyotatruckdriver OP Need a Spot Stock '81 starting running rough at 2,000 to 2,500 rpm recently. Idles smooth and seems to smooth out under hard acceleration. I would say the truck "surges" more than runs rough. I cleaned carb and checked all vacuum lines. Everthing is okay. Float level on carb is okay too. Changed fuel filter, plugs and air filter - no change. Suggestions? Maybe EGR failure?
