Interesting...

My Firefox and Safari problems appear to have been cured. And, a couple other complaints based on FireFox appear to have been cured.

As long as the error does not drop you into an https session, I am going to look at that as a separate issue and narrow some search parameters to see if there is something that is joomla - IE8 specific.

I have been noting a few issues with "certificates" when accessing the portal (www.4x4wire.com)

Is anyone noting strange behavior???

I just checked using IE (v 8.0.6001.18702) & get a message at the bottom border of the IE window saying 'Done, but with errors on page.'.

I doubleclicked on that and got a popup giving me the error details which are as follows...

Not sure if this helps but figured I'd give you any details I'm seeing as well just in case.

Thanks.

You have narrowed the search. It might be some of the google ad configuration.

That error is generated by one of the ad servers. I have been in contact with them and they say just reload the page.

I am not real happy with the response and let them know they potentially have an issue to deal with...

This is a bit off topic, but how do you get advertisers ti sign up here? I'm trying to figure out how to generate traffic and ad revenue on my site.

We could discuss this via PM if you prefer, but I think it's important to know how revenue is generated at this site as well.

There are three main sources for ads: sell advertising, affiliate programs or "pay-per-click".

Commission Junction (affiliate), google ads/Kontera Adwords (pay-per-click) are the most common.

Affiliate programs are commission based and paid when someone buys as long as they were directed by the affiliate site.

About a month ago I set up a deal with AutoWeek which displays on the portal and legacy content.

Overall, I have some of all three setup.

Success is based on volume of traffic. Volume of traffic is based on content.

Within the past 24 hours, 4x4wire has cracked the 100,000 barrier. As such, 4x4wire ranks in the top 100,000 websites world-wide against all topics.

4x4wire has content and volume.

Hmmm oh problem with your computer? Reboot it.

Was this a level 1 support person or someone higher? Sounds like a level 1 support answer especially if he/she didn't explain why this would/might fix it.

What's involved with reloading the page?

I am assuming Level 1 droid as it was an email response and no reply to my pointed query back...
