Logging in this morning was absolutely normal, at 0730. There was no problem. I booted the system (turned off overnight), visited a couple sites and forums (using a single instance of Firefox), and logged into 4x4wire with no problem.

Would this lessen the probability of the problem being with either my system or with Firefox 3.5.1? Would it increase the probability of it's being with the server or the forum software? Keep in mind, I recently upgraded to Firefox 3.5.1, so I wouldn't completely rule out Firefox as the culprit.

Thanks for your help and attention to this problem.

Ken

I returned to 4x4wire at 0855, and had the same problem logging on. I received six warning screens, as shown/written above, one full screen warning, before I was able to log in.

This was after the earlier session this morning presenting no problems. It's beginning to seem rather random, and really irritating.

I think I prefer the forum software used on Oilburners.net, vBulletin version 3.7.3

I have eliminated the forums software from being root of the issue.

You can use the url: http://www.4x4wire.com/forums

It will go direct to the forums. I have not experienced a problem with that link.

Your info WRT times, has helped narrow the problem.

I ended up taking Firefox off of the laptop. It made it run slower. While it was on there was the only time I ever had it happen and I log onto 4x4wire at least 5 times a day.

It's been close to a week now that I've used the link you suggested above, and have not experienced a problem. Eliminating the earlier part of the login process, everything preceding the "forums choice" page seems to solve the problem. What does this tell us?

Admittedly, it's only a workaround, a band-aide fix, but it works, and it helps to narrow down the problem area.

Thanks for your diligence in pursuing this.

I believe the issue has been corrected. We have installed a valid "unsigned" cert in place of no cert.

That has been in place for about a week. There is one other issue that has surfaced; random slow site load.

That has been linked to one of the ad servers providing banner ads. I have been assured the ad server issue has been corrected.

I am monitoring logs and listening for problems viewers experience.

Thanks....
