I live most of the time in Australia. Aftermarket support is greater than in the U.S. - particularly when you take into account the overall market. Australia has only 22 million people. 4X4s are popular here and SUVs make up a large percentage of the market. Pajeros are common - I don't know the market share, but probably not as great as Toyota. Australia is a Big Brother state and common threads in forums here have to do with what modifications are legal. "Can I take my rear seat out?" etc. New South Wales is currently proposing new restrictions on body lift and tire sizes.

I cant believe they are starting to get strict on vehicles there, why? Are they serious about asking if they can take out they're rear seats? wow <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" />

This kind of thing reminds me of the UK. For example, anything that you, a passenger or a pedestrian might come in to contact with inside or outside your car must have a minimum of a 2.5mm radius (bolt heads and everything). No driving around with the rear bumper missing there. My brother has had tickets for driving a rusty car because it MIGHT cause additional injury to pedestrians in an accident!

One of the things I love about living in Southeast US is you can do what you like by comparison. I can't imagine a frame/tank lift would be legal over there.

Seriously!?!?!?! how disgusting!?

I'm Glad we've got you over here to share in our freedoms, and contribute to our country.

I think I should start a rescue group that caters to brilliant minds, and awesome work ethics, and go around the world smuggling these people out of the 3rd world hellholes, and first world prisons, and bring them here.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
I saw a debate between the President of the American Rifle Association and some creepy Aussie broad the other day over banning most weapons " worldwide like we did in Australia".
He tore her a brand new one! Great video! It's easy to see how things got out of hand with people of her type there.

I didn't mean to hijack the thread, but freedom lost is a subject near and dear to me. It's easy to see the importance of the U.S. Bill of Rights when you live in another country - I've lived in several. I'll make some comments on the Off Topic Chat - Politics forum here.

Back to MMCs. The LWBs here are 7-seaters with fold down "dickie" seats in the way back. I had one for a while. I removed both and replaced one when I needed it. I was amazed to find out that what I did could be illegal - depends on the cop and the state. I've modified the SWB I have now from a 5-seater to a 3-seater. Pix when I've finished the mods. Illegal? Maybe, I don't know. I guess I should care - I spent a couple of hours in a jail cell recently over a radar detector issue (illegal here in some places). I guess you can take the boy out of America, but .... etc.

Who do you work for Bernoulli? I'm in Alice Springs now. Looking for a Gen 3 DiD Exceed ('02-'06). Pretty much non-existent in Alice. Will probably have to buy out of state & either fly to get it or have it shipped. I have seen a few for sale in Queensland...
