I did some searching for +Spring +Over +Axle but didn't come up with anything definite really. I know a SOA will give more lift than the Yota shackles but really I don't need but 1"-2". And I fear a SOA even with some more t-bar cranking would leave the front angled bad. Also wouldn't an SOA throw drive shaft angles and such out of whack more than the shackles? Only downside I can think of for the shackles is them hanging down wayyyy low. So what do most suggest, and any info on the SOA would be appreciated since I am not too familiar with it.
Thanks in advance. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

Install an add-a-leaf into your rear leaf springs. Gives you about 2" and a slightly stiffer rear suspension. Everything will still flex just fine on the trail and you'll be able to carry more cargo without the droopy butt look going down the road.

Yes. Or have the spring pack re-arched plus addaleaf. I have also played around in my head with using coilovers plus the leaf, but you'd have to bag the coil/threads. Airshocks also played briefly. I'd still want to measure the drive pinion flange angle with vertical, and the same for the tcase output, and correct with angle shims between the spring and spring perch to match the angles under normal highway truck loadup.
I don't like shackles because they don't help any, and may hurt angle of departure max. Draw a line from bottom of whatever rear bumper fitted to contact of tire (tangent to tread surface) and you'll see what I mean. any body/suspension intrusion below this line compromises departure angle. Extending the rear shackles usually intrudes into this space. except perhaps at full extension.
I don't like soa because you can hit the axle at the ubolts with enough vigor to snap the axle off, where a sua setup like stock will surf over the rock, ubolt ends protected (mostly).
IMHO.

SOA will give normally about 4-5" lift so thats out of the question. Me personally I would go with the shackle lift for better flex the stockers are a little too short. Or maybe a tank/frame lift with SOA to give 2-3"?? hmm....
