a lot of times when someone changes the plugs, they get codes for miss fires, this is most likely the wiring harness because with age they don't hold together. try the different part hope it works

I went back to the junkyard and tried out the one they had. same results. so I'm back to the drawing board. I'll recheck all the wires tomorrow and replace the one coil that I know is going bad.

Fixed!!!! Whoever the big dummy is that worked on the thing last (I won't name names, hehe) switched the two plugs around. Well anyway, I got a new set of plugs and wires installed, a new coil, cleaned the MAF thingie and the throttle plates. So now I shouldn't have to mess with anything, at least for a little while.

What plugs?

The o2 sensor or the spark plug wire?

Thanks

The black 4? wire plugs that plug into the air intake between the MAF and the throttle body, one is the idle air control and the other one plugs in right next to the throttle body, they are both the same and I didn't think they were so I didn't bother checking them until this last time I tried to fix it.

Now I see,

And unless it is super brand new and was like sitting in moth balls.............

The wife is pretty happy I found it too. I was walking around in a really pissy mood for a few days trying to figure out what the heck could go bad so fast. I walked in the door after I fixed it and told her some dumbass had the connectors mixed up and all she did was shake her head and laugh.

The other plug must be the throttle position sensor.
