No, if you mix them they will gel and ruin the compressor and other components. Also, the oil that is used in the r12 system is not compatable with r134a and will not flow thru the system properly causing the clutch on the compressor to not disengage. If you decide to retro fit your vehicle your need to replace compressor, orfice tube, condensor, the fittings and the evaporator, so pretty much all the components and the system need to be evacuated and vacuumed so there will not be any moisture or air in the system.
Well I live in florida and just recently My AC-Which was still R12 started getting warm after a bit. I ended up changing out the Fan 1st. then I added 134 and since it's cold as can be in 90deg heat. Just Drove to Itchtucknee springs (210miles one way) and back the other day with 7people in car (Jump seats mounted) me and front passeneger FROZE trying to keep everybody coool in back <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />
