I think the first set of parts numbers they gave me, and therefor the first set dimensions where wrong. The latter number I posted seems to be much more accurate. According to the one shop I talked to the depth of the seal should be 7mm. I double checked while the shaft was still out and 7mm sounds right. I ended up putting the truck back together as I needed it on the weekend.

As it turns out, the seal has stopped leaking (go figure?). You'd think after taking the CV axle out and putting it back together the leak would have gotten worse, but no. I just don't understand Mitsubishi's.

For now I'm going to live with my ticking time bomb of a front axle seal, but I think I'm going to start a thread of seal parts numbers asI want to do the T-case, and dif seals in the fall.
